Chi Swing
An ancient Chinese system for the development of internal energy, Chi Kung or qigong (pronounced chee Goong ") is, like tai chi on Basic principles of the Taoist religion as extended to Oriental medicine.
Unlike yoga, chi kung is less emphasis on stretching movements and postures, plus learn to feel and move energy within the body. Some of basic exercises chi kung involve standing still for anything from minutes to several hours, the detection of motion energy in the body.
The Chi Kung program is comprehensive. It allows students to pace themselves adequately supported for their interest and time available. All levels of students are welcome. If all you want to do is study and have a form, you will find a program that suits you. Some students choose to repeat the formula of how to focus less on the mechanics of movement and on the "flow" of energy. Students who choose to do so, may do 50% of the cost. Some students choose to continue and learn another form.
Other exercises Chi Kung involve gentle, rhythmic rocking and stretching movements to generate and conserve energy, not burn calories. The chi kung practitioner seeks to avoid stress on joints and muscles and directs her awareness inside the body rather than focusing the construction of what the Chinese call "external" force in the form of tight, well-developed muscles.
Consequently, the practice of chi kung develops inner strength in a flexible, supple and relaxed body. An experienced practitioner can use this therapy, not only for healing, but also as a preventive measure. Chi Kung is one of the most effective of all Oriental methods to fight against stress and is also very popular as a means to improve and maintain sexual potency. Taoist "secrets" of how to maintain sexual energy are now serious attention as an important part of the resistance to the aging process.
