When the tendons through the carpal tunnel become tight and enlarged, results of pain from myofascial trigger points (knots) in muscles, and pressure on the median nerve. The pain caused by carpal tunnel syndrome is usually located in the palm of the hand toward the thumb. In addition, there is often numbness or tingling in the palm, thumb, forefinger and middle finger. In most cases, symptoms are in one hand, generally dominant hand, but may affect both sides at the same time. In addition, people with carpal tunnel syndrome often have a sense of weakness of grip affected hand (s) May and symptoms worsen with continued use.

For example, the therapist May use Neuromuscular Therapy or Trigger Point Therapy to eliminate myofascial trigger points in muscles of the forearm to take the tension and pressure on the tendons in the carpal tunnel. The massage therapist may also use Myofascial Release techniques or Deep Tissue massage techniques to release adhesions between muscles of the forearm and the surrounding tissues while also using Muscle Energy Techniques to lengthen the muscles smooth forearm. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome responds to both therapies output position as Ortho-Bionomy that work with the body's nervous system to release muscles and improve joint movement wrist and hand area. Lymphatic drainage massage techniques can also be used to improve the flow of lymph in the wrist area to reduce pressure in the region. Working the muscles whose tendons pass through the carpal tunnel may be supported by therapy for other muscles between them to improve muscle balance.
